Given that flinch states are one of the few non-floorhuggable states in the game, the fact that the window you have to actually hit the opponent during them isn’t visually clear is a pretty big issue. Can we have some sort of visual effect that indicates when an opponent is either still in flinch, or no longer in flinch? As it stands, you’ll often hit someone with a flinching move, go for a follow up, and be a few frames too late, meaning they’re alrady in crouch and they floorhug your next attack as well.
As an addendum, one thing that’s important to remember about the flinch state is that it’s still “active” so long as the character isn’t doing anything else (eg. crouching, shielding, attacking). The crouch is visually ambiguous with the flinch, which is where the confusion comes from. This might require a tandem change to either allow floorhugging out of flinch after the first actionable frame (which I’m not sure why it isn’t like that already), or simply spawn the effect when exiting the flinch state rather than when it’s possible to do so.
