
This has been a consistent problem for throws that don’t have a “hitbox” attached to them. Why can there not be a purple screen on these?

Purple screen happens during hitpause and makes it longer. So it’s probably technical + visual problems

Surely there has to be something that can be done, even if it’s just using the effect without any extra hitpause. Every time you get back thrown by lox or reina at the edge, it’s a “unsurvivable knockback” jumpscare.

The critical hit effect actually doesn’t extend hitpause, it slows the entire game down to half speed for 10 frames; that’s why it also doesn’t spawn if there are more than 2 players alive, because it feels really bad for anybody not involved in the critical hit. It looks really bad on moves with low hitpause, and would look even worse on moves with no hitpause, on top of needing additional logic to spawn it because currently it spawns during hitpause. Especially since the addition of unlockable critical hit effects, it would be very difficult to make it look good for all of them.

I cannot believe it would be that difficult to do this, or at the very least spawn a vfx article so it doesn’t look identical to survivable throws. The idea that there’s nothing that can be done at all is frankly ridiculous.
