this character is still not good but I really REALLY think he should stay low tier. really toxic design imo.

A nerf to his weight and a buff to his kill power would probably help him feel less polarizing. You get in and it feels like you can’t kill him and he just gets back, then he hits you and you have to spend years recovering. Slade games seem to always be slow and campy.

slade has no reason to be this heavy when he has access to feather.
I generally think the balance between damage, kill power and weight is REALLY off for most chars.

I personally just dislike his awkward combination of weight and gravity. The heavy-floaty thing doesn’t feel fun to fight, and leads to a lot of forced neutral resets - where Slade proceeds to wall me out, floorhug dtilt, and circle camp.
I don’t think he needs nerfs, I just think this is frustrating.

I’d like to tack on here that slade can routinely live to 200+ percent because of his extremely difficult to contest up special. His recovery is not bad, his offense is incredible now thanks to his speed increases, and, in addition to that, he has access to an item that outright removes a lot of characters’ committal kills against him. The nightmarish concept of Marthritis against an opponent who can literally just say “no” to death is no longer a nightmare, it’s reality. You’re living in it. And he can still kill you at 100.

I don’t know who on the dev team is responsible for the idea that every character needs to be a nightmare to fight, but can someone else who likes fun please intervene here?
