I want my aether coins back after purchasing pool party clairen#910

When the new patch released in the beginning of this month, I was able to purchase the pool party clairen skin with aether coins. When the new update dropped the new battlepass included the Clairen skin.
Now I don’t even get my coins back when I unlock the pool party clairen milestone.
That means I just wasted 100k coins which I don’t get back? That just doesn’t make any sense…
