Appreciation post: matchmaking has been relatively good lately#878

Whatever the technical details of the change made to the matchmaking in ranked, it’s been much better than in the past since then. I’ve been able to consistently match with people near my elo, and have only had one or two matches against people I either had no chance at beating or people who had no chance of beating me. Thank you devs for listening to that feedback and making a change!

for me its still very random from night to night. But with the hard 200 elo limit its not as bad on the bad nights as it was before. So it defenitly is better but it could still be improved imho. I still often get +/- nearly 200 after a ten second search. so i think starting with a smaller gap for the first 20-30 seconds would be worth a try.

Quick update: just got matched with someone 290 points above me after a 10 second search. this is clearly not working as intended. do you widen the search radius just because the other person has been searching for so long and i get punished for that?

EDIT: happened again. 20 second search, opponent 310 points above me.

happend again: 20 second search 345 points above me.
this is not ok. if you cannot get something basic as match making going you don’t have to wonder why your game is dead.
