One, it’s a thematic win because being a hard to hit slippery varmit was a big part of Slade’s gameplay in Dungeons. Two, it’s an alternate source of income that involves engaging with the opponent at close range. Three, it enables a different style of gameplay with Slade than the rest of the cast if he wants to go fishing for dodges instead of shielding - can’t be a pirate without being a bit greedy eh?
If you added a cheeky voice line for when he pulls it off, it would really make the kind of players who would go for it extra smug about it.
