
I wanna hear some opinions about this; here are mine:
Grabs are too big/large (mostly standing grab), which makes them a bit too good in neutral
I think making them lose to parry would be healthy
Throws lead to a ton of good stuff AND they go past defensive options; this seems a little hard to balance
Edit: the only weakness of grabs seems to be low range and you can only do it on the ground. What if we decreased the range of grabs and made them closer to the floor? That way spacing your attacks has more value and jumping is a much more viable counterplay

They’re the strongest offensive option because they’re available out of every form of grounded defense and they also beat every form of grounded defense. And then they put the opponent in the air, where defense is far weaker. You can’t just exclusively grab and juggle at all levels, but you can get way more mileage out of that than you’d expect.

At a glance, I would be down for being able to parry grabs.

grabs are WAY too strong in this game but they kinda have to be since shields and especially FH is already too strong as well.
I would love for grabs to be less powerful but we then finally need to tackle the actually issue of the game first.
its funny how most complaints seem to always have their root in FH.
As a wrastor player, all my best attacks are too risky early game, due to shield and FH. I have to rely on grabs and juggles to open other offensive options. I’d rather see shield or FH weakened to be honest.

What if perfect shielding didn’t heal sheild? And attacking didn’t heal it either? That way shield breaks would be more of a fear

I REALLY wish there was an official video or smth explaining the Dev’s perspective on FH
It is definitely odd that parry does nothing against grab. I think it would make sense to see parry beat grab. Especially with parry already being slower and more commital than other grounded defensive options.
As others said grab is so strong because it just outright lets you ignore FH and shield. So more often than not you’re better off grabbing over doing another option in far too many situations. Why risk getting reversaled when you can just grab instead. It is funny how often issues go back to FH existing.
I would also like to see shields get some kind of nerf. Maybe just removing attacking healing shield and possibly removing perfect shield healing as well (honestly I feel like perfect shield happens way too frequently as well). Since right now the threat of a shield break feels so nonexistent most of the time. As well there being no shield poking which makes shields feel even stronger.
grabs reach too high, jump should beat grab more often IMO

i think i am fine with grabs beating parry. But yeah, shield being so good is also an issue. Especially since so many chars have super strong OOS options that hit in front and behind them. try crossing up a lox in shield and he will just nair you.
and i agree that shield break happens way too little and is also not even half as scarry when it happens as in smash. in smash you always will eat a fully charged smash attack. hear you might even not get hit at all if you are lucky and your shield is broken below a platform.
its so weird when the try to mimic the worst parts of melee but then slap ultimate shields (the worst part of that game) on top. Shield poking is the best thing that melee has if you ask me. Being in shield in melee is super scarry and always a last resort. in rivals 2 run up and shield is a super strong and common strategy.
