
I am not saying the char is too strong. Orcane could get some other buffs if his recovery got nerfed for all i care BUT currenlty trying to edge guard him is a nightmare with most chars. with his new side special getting puddle on the ground is easier than ever and once he has puddle his recovery is nearly free. with the new side special mixups, orca hop, fair etc he has so many options and angles to recover and once you commit to an edge guard he just ports to stage with puddle. and if you commit to guarding the puddle he will still always make it back from anywhere.
then add that he has so much weight and it becomes really hard to kill him. As i said, he can have other buffs, i don’t think he is too strong or anything. i just think fighting a char that cannot be properly edge guarded is super boring.

Only sideBs that have consumed a puddle will replace one, so I don’t think puddle uptime has increased from that change. It was far easier to get puddle out when NeutralB had around 10 less frames of recovery.
Orcane’s weight was hit in the recent balance patch to put him at 95 (same weight as zetter/fors) which I think seems fair and logical
But the main issue (and a popular one) with puddle being he can TP to the other side of the stage for “free” (puddle must be on opposite side) I can agree. I’d say the main change required here would be giving orcane’s UpB a limited but generous range (with an ui indicator when in range)
With a limited range orcane would be forced to play with puddle where the action is or risk losing access to their best recovery tool

i was talking more about moving the puddle when talking about the new side B. but yeah, what you desribed is the main issue. maybe the change could also be that recovery frames are longer the further orcane has to travel?
and as i said, i have no issue with his weight in general and don’t want to get the char nerved at all. i just think removing some of his power level away from recovery and towards other things would benefit the flow of fighting him.
but the fact that the moment you actually go off stage he can just decide to port makes any attempt to even go offstage useless.

Side B needs more startup frames to make it a hair more reactable + orcane shouldn’t be able to wall jump after an orca hop.
