I really don’t mind floor hugging at all.
But the fact that gentleman jabs are not true is just not intuitive whatsoever and it’s very frustrating. Please make them work every time.

I wasn’t even aware they weren’t unti l saw this lol

@AngryRole517 yeah you can interrupt all of them with grabs or fast moves as long as you floorhug

This might be an interesting dynamic. Floorhug is meant to counter jabs, but only because canceling into tilts is so powerful. This change could give more reason to use Jab 3s, as a new floorhug counter, and give the player a meaningful choice between being safe and getting less advantage, or greeding for a tilt.

@AngryRole517 I’m pretty sure you can’t? You can definetly shield after floorhugging but only options that could be fast enough to counterattack would be floorhuggable themselfs. Then, there’s the fact that a lot of up tilts break FH at low percents, witch adds another layer to some of these interactions.
What really gets in my nervs is how you can grab people out of shield mid genttleman combo . I feel like that should be a frame trap most of the time.

Sorry, I was actually under the impression the default jab combo always beats floorhugging. Is that not true?

@SophisticatedDiagram426 most jab 3s knockdown around 20-35%, but people can technically escape in between the first 2 jabs if they FH and buffer a shield or roll. They can’t counterattack out of FH most of the time , however. Not enough time.

if jab 3 would always lead to a hard knockdown against FH at any percent we actually had a reliable and fair 50/50 against FH ond the ground. But that would be good design so i don’t feel we will be getting that.
Sorry if i am becoming cynical but its so painfully obvious why FH is a horribly bad mechanic and it feels like people and the devs are still catching up on that when me and others have brought up those issues years ago.

@TemptingActor769 of course it’s you.
