
There are a few issues with the Advanced Defense Tutorial 2.
First, the button to it has the wrong name in the Advanced Tutorial UI. It’s called “Defense 1.” This is also a problem with the Advanced Offense Tutorial 2 button.
Next, the Ledge Tech tutorial timing is pretty off. It wants you to try to Up Special to ledge, and tech when Orby hits you. But pretty often, you’ll get reset before Orby even starts charging up his attack, meaning it’s impossible to pass the Ledge Tech.
Also, during the Spike Tech tutorial, after doing it successfully, you’re immediately teleported back to the reset position to try again. The player does successfully pass, but it leads to them doing the spike tech animation in midair instead of against the wall. This isn’t a huge issue, but it robs the player of seeing what an actual spike tech against the wall would look like successfully. It’d be best if they were teleported a little later.
Finally, the Pummel Break tutorials should really be moved earlier. For such an important part of the game, a tech that’s really easy to pull off, and a mechanic that’s only in this game, it has no business being in the very last collection of tutorials.
Ledge tech isn’t a mechanic in the game. There are only ground techs, wall techs, and ceiling techs. This tutorial is about the ability to do wall techs during hitstop if you are already touching the wall before you get launched, commonly called wallhug teching.
For the wallhug tech tutorial, it works correctly if you do a grounded up B going straight up from your initial position. If you jump, then Orby will not attack with the correct timing.

@Songbird I only call them Ledge Techs because that’s what they’re called in the tutorial itself.
In this attached video, I always do a grounded up special going straight up from the initial position. Sometimes Orby attacks with the correct timing, but sometimes he attacks only after I’m teleported. Sometimes he doesn’t even attack at all.
