Hello I am The Church of the Bell you might know me as the guy who makes the Top 100 character lists for Rivals of aether 2 ranked mode. And from what I see the people love these lists but there was also been a problem… The way your mosed played character data is tracked is flawed right now. The way rivals has it set up now makes it so it tracks how much you play the character lifetime throughout the whole history of the game instead of by season for ranked. You might not think this is a problem but this raises the question. What happens to someone who switches mains? Either because a new character came out or they just weren’t vibing with their old main people switch who they play all the time. But what about the several hundred or even thousands of hours they put into their old main they will still count for their character data. So if someone played Clairen for 800 hours and they switch to Slade because hes new and they don’t like Clairen anymore when I create the top 100’s they will appear on the Clairen top 100 instead of the Slade top 100 even if they didn’t play Clairen for a single game this season. The amount of DMs, complainants, comments, and questions I get for this is mindboggling and I just want to improve this thing I do for the community because I love them and want to support them so just making this change from tracking it by lifetime to just per season would clear up this problem and make the lists much more accurate for all the players. Please consider making this change it is all I ask. Thank you for your time I hope you have a great day!

Alternatively, it’d be awesome if the studio could expose an API to gather this info programmatically (& thus, more accurately).

it’s weird cause with the new profile system they added also shows the most recent season stuff like i’m slade on my profile… but ranked still says ranno even tho i haven’t played him at all since slade came out

They said they would not share an api because it would require an extra layer of security they are not capable of keeping with their current team, and the effort required is not worth it overall. But it WOULD be cool to get that.

I answered this question on one of my ranked streams. The answer is at 01:10:30 found here: https://www.youtube.com/live/0q5z0rxaasM?si=WlLk8kJs2RLrdPkq&t=4237
But the answer is that we’re limited on the number of playfab stats we have and breaking character percentage down by season would multiply the number we need.
We’ll need to migrate to a new system if we ever swap over to character ranks (which I also discuss on that stream) so this would happen then but we don’t have plans to change the stats before then.

How does it update for the profile page then- since it seems to show the more recent playstats? Would it be possible to use the profile page to show the most played/fave character on the leaderboard instead?

That only saves your last 30 matches so no it wouldn’t have data for the full season.
The recent stats in the lower left corner is also pulling from those 30 matches. (30 per category type)
