Please stop taking orcane down the back alley and shooting him 57 times every single patch#1184

Every single time Orcane appears in a patch note I already embrace myself for the nerfs, everyone complains about zetterburn but all he gets is a little tummy tickle. Meanwhile here’s me actively celebrating whenever Orcane doesn’t appear in a patch note cause that doesn’t equate a nerf. Seeing him win EVO alongside La Reina made my gut crawl cause I knew what that was going to entail, a big bag of nerfs to shove into my whale boy’s mouth. Why is Orcane always getting targeted in these patches I thought he was your favourite rival Dan!

Honestly, it’s very upsetting that they keep nerfing characters to the ground who don’t really need it, meanwhile the characters who actually need it get a slap on the wrist cough Zetterburn cough

I’m repeating myself but… I would be fine with all the nerfs if they give him back his 19.6 dashspeed and jumpspeed. Just so we can have fun again. They want to nerf his bubble play. Honestly? That’s a good thing, but bring bag his movements plays then.

But we all know why Orcane is getting all of that. They have some pro players who are also testers, and they tell the devs what they think about balance etc. No tester is an Orcane main and Orcane is one of the most hated char among the testers, especially CakeAssault. Noticed how Forsburn barely get changed for a year now? And even got buffed in the last patch despite being a top 3 char?

Well there is your answer on why Orcane get nerfed each time.

orcane is fun and good? I don’t get all the movement complaints orcane’s movement still feels super good / fun. Honestly I don’t get any of the orcane complaints. He’s still really good after the nerfs, he’s still really fun after the nerfs, every time I read something about orcane on here it feels like it’s from someone that doesn’t even play the game I don’t get it. Honestly all of the orcane nerfs have made sense, and he’s also been shown love with stuff like the new side special. It’s clear with the balance changes that the devs are targeting pain points and behavior rather than a teir list placement, and honestly that’s the correct way to balance.

When they nerfed his movespeed, in the patchnotes they said “Everybody knows Orcane is probably top 1 right now.” When the everybody was a small amount of testers saying Orcane was easy to play and to win with even tho no Orcane was placing great in tourney. The only one was Plup with Orcane as a secondary placing 1st at evo 2025.
So yeah it was about balance back then. And well I made a topic about what Plup said about Orcane. How they turned him from a character who needed to outplay opponents with his movespeed, to a boring grappler.

And yeah his overall puddle and bubble plays are pain points, and I’m glad it’s getting nerf and nerf again, but I still don’t get how his dash speed and jump speed were. Especially when some characters have today than Orcane had back then.

And the worst of it? It just feels the Devs don’t know what to do with Orcane. Not only he has been nerfed, but his playstyle is radically different from what it used to be.
If you look at Olympia who received a lot of nerfs, she still has the overall same playstyle (and I do play her, so it’s not a biased opinion). So yeah you can nerf a character, and push him into a playstyle, but with Orcane it just feels like they keep changing the playstyle itself.
