Miscellaneous issues with the UI#1177

This is probably a known issue, but the user interface can be difficult to use, with a long list of issues that I’ll try and summarize a few of here.

  • Occasionally gets confused when receiving Switch pro-controller input and will swap between reading the buttons as written and reading them with the alternate Xbox layout. Likely has something to do with Steam input settings.
  • A few cosmetics with inconsistent labels/names (Jewel Zetterburn profile picture being the only non-legendary one, Coolblue alternating between 1 and 2 words, “Mina Bone Up” emote listed as a Maypul cosmetic, etc.)
  • Previewing death effects doesn’t work half of the time (preview screen opens, but no effects show)
  • Controller cursor still movable during loading screens
  • Controller cursor getting stuck on previous screens after transitioning and needing to be reset manually with the mouse

This game feels very polished for an early-access indie game, but the UI is definitely where the unfinished state becomes the most apparent. This is especially so in the store and the character select screen, which even ignoring the straight-up bugs feel generally thrown-together and confusing to navigate. The game remains perfectly playable, but this is something I would really want to see addressed if/when this game moves out of the early-access stage.
