Floorhugging should only be possible if you were airborne when hit#1085

The title doesn’t cover all circumstances but I think you get the jist.

I like Floorhug, I think its a necessary “evil”. But maybe it should get a little nerf.

While grounded, CC imo feels completely fair. Its intentional and meaningful. You input CC before you get hit and risk getting punished for it.

FG on the otherhand is input after-the-fact and can feel unfair to lower level opponents.

Perhaps to reduce the effectiveness of FG, it could only be performed if you are hit while airborne - rather than hit into the air from a grounded state.

My reasoning behind this is that whilst you are airborne, you have no access to CC anyway, so FG feels like it should stay. But while grounded, having access to both could feel too strong.

This may remove some of the frustrations of the mechanic whilst keeping its usability.

Edit: I thought about this a bit longer and I change my mind… We need FG

melee kinda does this. in melee you can onl ASDI down (basically FH) if you got launched. So if a move does not launch at all you cannot FH at. Some moves do that at early percent (sakurai angle) so they bet FH at low percent and later on loose to FH when the launch you at higher percent.

@TemptingActor769 what you described in melee is also how it works in this game. It is less prevalent in this game tho due to the lack of the 361 Sakurai angle that can be seen all over melee
