Adjustments for Absa's Gravity Jump#1071

Currently gravity jump has a 2-frame input window (jump and fastfall must be inputted within two frames of each other). It can sometimes be frustrating/inconsistent to get when you really want it, especially online.

I’ve talked to many Absa players who have agreed it would be nicer if the input was more lenient/bufferable. Fleet’s float is like this so it doesn’t make much sense for Absa’s input window to be so strict. Please allow us to do this input without destroying our hands.

Additionally, trying to gravity jump from a platdrop IS bufferable, and depending on which frame of the platdrop animation you input your jump, the resulting gravity jump has varying momentum and distance. It would be appreciated if this platdrop gravity jump could be normalized to either match the non-buffered air version, or have it’s own consistent speed regardless of animation timing.

I don’t feel like making the input easier would have drastic effects for the character, as previously mentioned Fleet already has a less demanding input with float, and tons of Absas that come into the Absa discord don’t even know the GJump mechanic exists. It’s already hard enough to do it on accident, so making it a bit easier would make the character more fun.

Thank you for reading :)

Bufferable would be kinda nice, tho if it were to be I’d love it to come with a unique sound effect

I kind of like the difficulty of the tech, it makes it a bit more special and sets the technical skill level of the absas apart a bit when used consistently/correctly.

I also worry about getting it unintentionally because now that I have the muscle memory for it, even as strict as it is, I do sometimes get it unintentionally.

I suppose something like 1 more frame would be helpful to mitigate online latency and provide more consistency.

I don’t suppose they’d go through the trouble to make it an optional feature people could toggle… the extra buffer
