A stray kill option for Maypul?#1025

This is a shameless plea for a buff to my main. Maypul is sorely lacking in stray kill options. The ways that she can set up into forward air, which would be her best stray kill option, always leave the opponent too high to claim a stick, and at too high of a percent will actually put them out of her range to follow up with it. Aside from that, her closest options are forward tilt and up tilt, both of which barely kill anything until upward of 160% regardless of placement and are surprisingly difficult to hit on opponents who are trying to avoid stray hits. She is very much lacking in options to claim stocks when she gets in her Marthritis range, which is shockingly low %. Other characters have plenty of stray kill options. Ranno has forward air, back air, up air, and continues to have 50-50 confirms out of throws until very high percents. Clairen has basically every attack if she happens to connect with the right spacing. Other characters have throw followups at effectively all % thresholds, giving them Marthritis far later than Maypul. I’m aware the character is very good (if you can manage to get the tether to activate (can we please make this a hold input?)), but this is something that can lose her entire games if she ends up getting in that position. There’s really no reason that Fleet should be living to 200+% and still surviving forward and down tilts, nairs, and every throw option, and there’s no reason Maypul should be able to be cornered into trying to Hail Mary back air. Can she have at least one move besides committal strongs that can kill if she manages to hit it in a scrap?

tether

Make it hold bufferable and give it a button macro and then we can talk.

I do miss the up b input from R1 sometimes, but unironically the solution is to time your inputs better. There is no reason to give it a hold buffer.

Macro then. If we can’t make it more accessible, then we can make it so flubbing one button doesn’t kill you in certain contexts

You have, like, four different button combinations you can press to perform tether, and all you have to do is press both at the same time. I struggle to see how this is any different from flubbing a double jump input offstage. The buffer window is exactly the same
